Movement Therapy

What Is Movement Therapy?

Movement Therapy is a physical rehabilitation method that focuses on identify the root causes of physical symptoms helping to relieve your pain and restore the natural way your body moves.
It focuses on your body’s movement system — your muscles, joints, and nerves — and how they work together.

This approach uses the latest science and the core principles of human movement.
Movement Therapy can be used on its own, alongside other rehabilitation methods, or as a next step after acute forms of treatment to help you build strength and resilience and prevent future injuries.

Each session combines:

  • Hands-on therapeutic bodywork (see Additional Modalities),

  • Gentle stretching and mobility techniques, and

  • Corrective movements tailored to your needs.

Because long-term results require consistency, you’ll receive a personalized daily movement practice to do at home between sessions.
As a Holistic Body Coach, I also help you explore how your mental, emotional, and lifestyle habits may be affecting your body and your healing process.

Who is Movement Therapy for?

Movement Therapy is for anyone who wants to move freely, comfortably, and without pain.

It’s especially helpful if you:

  • Are recovering from a musculoskeletal injury,

  • Struggle with chronic joint pain or stiffness, or

  • Want to return to activities you love without discomfort.

If you’re ready to find the cause of your pain instead of just treating the symptoms, Movement Therapy will help you rebuild your body from the inside out.
You’ll learn how your body moves and how to keep your progress going long after your sessions end.

Movement Therapy Process

Step 1: Schedule A Consultation

If you’re not sure whether Movement Therapy is right for you, start with a free 30-minute consultation (in person or virtual).

This is your chance to:

  • Ask questions,

  • Learn about my movement approach, and

  • Make sure we’re a good fit to work together.

  • Book Your Consultation

If you already know you’re ready to start, go to Step 2.

Step 2: Perform A Movement Therapy Movement Assessment

Your next step is a Movement Therapy Assessment.
This helps us understand your movement strengths and limitations, and it creates a clear starting point for your program.

The assessment looks at how your body moves, identifies any restrictions or imbalances, and helps design a plan specific to your goals.

Step 3: Review Your Results and Begin Therapy

After your assessment, we’ll review your results together and create your personalized Movement Therapy plan.
Then, we’ll schedule your first session and begin the process of restoring your body’s natural movement.

Movement Therapy supports the “Move Toward Optimal” phase of the A Movement Lifestyle program.
Clients who combine both approaches often see the greatest results.
