MoveFit™ Personal Training

Exercise from a Movement Mindset™

MoveFit™ or Movement Fitness is a form of Personal Training designed to enhance your movement quality and performance. Movement Fitness is engaging in exercise to create fitness from a Movement Mindset™. MoveFit™ Personal Training sessions focus on moving your body and joints in ways that are natural to the human body throughout your Human Movement Sphere™. Using each client’s goals to inform the most appropriate strategies and techniques, this may include squatting, lunging, pushing, pulling, climbing, crawling, rolling, balancing, transitioning from one body position to another (i.e. kneeling to standing) and much more.

Your experience will be custom to you based on the information gathered about your body and it’s current presentation in the MoveFit™ Personal Training Discovery and Assessment Session. We will build on your strengths - where your movement capacity is adequate and resolve your limitations and weaknesses - where your movement capacity has been compromised. Together we will identify your specific goals while anchoring to the deep underlying motivation driving you toward them.  We will tap into your body’s wisdom and use that to establish a practice where movement and exercise support your intention to feel, move and live better.

We will meet you where you are and provide you with guidance, support, and accountability to take you where you want to go.  If your desire is to gain strength, improve flexibility and mobility, recover fully from injury, or build resilience in how your body moves and performs, we will create a MoveFit™ Personal Training program to get you there.

Who is MoveFit™ Personal Training for?

You are a good candidate for MoveFit™ Personal Training if you meet the following two criteria.

  1. MoveFit™ Personal Training is for individuals who are free from major musculoskeletal injury, chronic joint pain or limitation, or any other issue that prevents them from moving with a high degree of freedom. If you identify as someone who has a limiting condition, you’re likely best suited for Movement Therapy.  You can learn more about Movement Therapy by clicking HERE.

  2. MoveFit™ Personal Training is a form of exercise - structured physical activity - that is based on the universal principles of human movement and focuses on bolstering your capacity to move throughout the entirety of your Human Movement Sphere™.

MoveFit™ Personal Training Process

Step 1:  MoveFit™ Personal Training Consultation

Are we a good fit?  Let’s start with a consultation to make sure my movement philosophy and approach is aligned with your training needs and preferences.  The consultation is a complimentary 30 minute session performed in person or virtually. This is an opportunity for each of us to ask questions and get to know the other so we can determine if our partnership will meet both our needs.

  • Please click HERE to set up a consultation. If the consultation is unnecessary and you are ready to move forward, proceed to Step 2A.

Step 2A: MoveFit™ Personal Training Discovery & Assessment Session

For the MoveFit™ Personal Training Discovery and Assessment Session, you will have completed the MoveFit™ Personal Training Intake and the 5 Whys forms as sent to you shortly after scheduling your session. The intake form captures your health history, injury history, current orthopedic conditions, lifestyle variables - physical activity, nutrition, sleep, etc., as well as the objective training goals you intend to achieve.  The 5 Whys Exercise helps to identify the deep motivation behind your engagement - the desired experiences that will come as a result of achieving the objective training goals. You are driven in two ways: by the experiences you want to create - your vision and by the experiences you want to avoid and believe will happen if you don’t take action. We will capture both to help keep you engaged and accountable.

We will start this session by discussing the contents of your intake and 5 Whys forms. This will allow us to review the history of your movement health™, the central motivation behind your engagement in this process and the specific goals you want to achieve.

From there, we will proceed to the movement assessment. The assessment allows us to capture your current movement strengths and limitations and establish your movement baseline.  All of this information is critical to designing individualized programming to guide you successfully toward reaching your goals.

Step 2B: Discuss the Assessment Results & Set Your First Personal Training Session
